TheOrganism began--as http://thepressarchives.com in 2002--as a partner to ThePRESS a progressive free press Milwaukee-local NEWS and ARTS MONTHLY. Like most [poorly-funded] free press projects, dissension divided, morphed and aided in further defining the goals of key leaders. Though we continue publishing new pieces here and there, we [temporarily] have become a progressive portal, of sorts. We weed through submitted links to "like-minded" sites and organizations and provide links to "hot-issue" petitions collected by selected PACs. Most of our focus has been aimed at building a solid foundation to support a successful [grant seeking] 501(c) promoting individual portfolios and the careers of professional creatives, hosting quality forums the creative community can use and providing and easy-to-use e-commerce marketplace to help drive revenues to fund the project and the individual entities that make up the whole. Up to this point, this project has been funded with loose nickels, passion, anger, frustration and [good-old-fashion] sweat and compromise. Donations and trade are always welcome.<br>
